1. Click the Start button on XoftSpy. XoftSpy's scanning technology automatically scans your system, searching for suspicious files, folders, cookies and programs. Wait for the Scanner to finish.

2. Once the scan is complete, you can then remove the checked items displayed in the Scanning Results Window by clicking the Remove button. You decide which objects to remove.

3. If you are already registered, clicking the Remove button will remove and automatically backup (quarantine) all the selected items from your computer.

1. General Settings: If you click on this menu, you will be given the option to open XoftSpy on Windows Startup. By ticking the box for Launch XoftSpy at Windows Startup you will also have the option to allow XoftSpy to begin scanning or not to begin scanning immediately on Windows startup.

Default Internet Explorer Settings: The Default Home page area gives you the ability to enter your desired home page. Should XoftSpy detect and remove a browser hijacker your browser should default to this Internet Explorer Setting.

Default Search Page: The Default Search page area gives you the ability to enter your desired search page.

2. Scan Settings: By default, XoftSpy will scan the majority of any PC, however if you have additional drives, external hardware or undefined file paths, you can customize the scan settings to ensure that XoftSpy analyzes your Entire System.

After you click on Scan Settings, ensure that all items are checked. You also have the option to scan additional drives and folders by selecting "Click here to select folder". You may then select any additional drives or folders for scanning. If you select the "+" symbol you can get a more detailed breakdown of the drives and folders. Click OK and the scanner will remember your selection for future scans.

3. Scheduling: Our advanced scheduling option gives you the ability to customize your own schedule of XoftSpy launching and scanning. After you click on the "Scheduling" button, you can click on the "Schedule Task" drop-down menu to determine how often you would like XoftSpy to launch. Then, under "Start time" you can click over the minutes and hours and enter the time of day you would like XoftSpy to operate. If you click on the "Advanced" button you can introduce a scheduling start and end date as well as incorporate repetitive scheduling.

4. Backup List: This menu item lists all the files that were automatically backed up after the removal process. To restore particular files, click on the desired quarantine file you would like to restore and then click the Restore button. All files in that quarantine folder will be restored into your PC. You can then proceed to Start the XoftSpy scan again and if you do not want XoftSpy to detect and remove a particular file at anytime in the future then select that file and then right click on it and select 'Add selection to Ignore List'. If you would like to permanently remove any quarantine/backup file then you can select the quarantine/backup file and then click on the Delete button.

5. Ignore List: All items listed in this area were identified by you as files that you did not want XoftSpy to detect and remove during future XoftSpy operations. If you would like to add a file/files to your Ignore List then Click Start to begin a XoftSpy scan, then after the scan is complete select the files/files and then right click on the items and select 'Add selection to Ignore List'.

To remove a file from the Ignore List, click on the Ignore List menu, select the item and then click on the Delete button.

6. Scan Results: This menu item will list the results of your scan. Click on the Usage Report button to get details about your last scan and all time usage report.

If you are NOT registered, then clicking on the Remove button will take you to a registration page. Click on the Get Registration Code button - You will be directed to purchase a license key to unlock the software and give you full access to XoftSpy functionality including the spyware removal and auto update features.

XoftSpy is a one time cost of $39.95. You will never be re-billed. Your credit card information is never stored. Once you have purchased XoftSpy and have received your username and codes via email you can enter your registration information on the XoftSpy registration screen and then click okay.

Objects found will be displayed in the 'Scan Result' page as they are identified. You may be surprised at what suspicious files are discovered. When complete, "Finish" appears at the bottom.
