Step 1: Close all programs before initiating the uninstall process. Click on the Start menu, and open the Control Panel.
Step 2: Select "Add or Remove Programs" in the Control Panel menu for Windows XP or Server 2003. Select "Uninstall a Program" under the Programs for Windows Vista or Server 2008.
Step 3: Choose to uninstall Windows Internet Explorer 7 by highlighting it in the "Add or Remove Programs" box for Windows XP and Server 2003, and clicking "Remove." For Windows Vista and Server 2008, click "View Installed Updates" in the Tasks pane, then double-click on Windows Internet Explorer 8.
Step 4: Follow the prompts provided by the Uninstall Wizard. Restart the computer to make the changes permanent. The
operating system will automatically restore the
previous version of Internet Explorer.
Step 5: To double check, open the browser, click on the Help tab, and select "About Internet Explorer." Find the version number listed, which should be 6 or 7.
