Row Count Plus Transformation

Row Count Plus Transformation allows you to select from a list of available variables and also also create new variables As the name suggests we have taken the concept of the stock Row Count Transform, recreated it and extended the functionality. The main enhancement is the addition of a new output, duration, which can be assigned to a variable in the same manner as row count.

From a usability perspective, the stock transform uses the default editor, so clearly there is room for improvement. Unless you are always very well organised when designing packages you will have opened the stock transform and forgotten the name of the variable, or even forgotten to create it.

The Row Count Plus interface will allow you to not only select from a list of available variables, but you can also create new variables to be selected there and then, without leaving the dialog.

We have also added the ability to raise an event of the count and duration details, which can be used to signal the presence of rows in a data flow path, as well as being easy to capture through standard package logging.
