The acronym RGB comes from the three primary colors: red, green, and blue.

One of the main application in which RGB model is used is the color display system in CRT (cathode ray tube), LCD (liquid crystal display) or plasma display monitors.

Actually the RGB color model is not the 'red', 'green' and 'blue' colors. The mixing results are not exact whether the primary spectrals make-up of the red, green and blue are defined.
