Diskeeper 2008 Server Standard Edition 12.0.758.0 High-speed automatic defragmentation that maximizes server speed and reliability

Pros: It works very well to defragment volumes without affecting the performance of other applications. You could just set it and forget it; it takes care of the rest.
Cons: In its official website or CNET, we have to register for the trial at the publisher's Web site before downloading. Uninstall did not work properly!
Benefits:
When we have noticeable slowing of our machines, there might be two reasons, one is that our machines have been infected by viruses, the other is there are too many disk fragments in our hard drive. To solve the former problem, we need an antivirus tool, while to the latter one, a powerful defragger is necessary.
Windows offers us a good defragger; however, it hogs a lot of RAM. I have experienced several similar programs; Diskeeper 2008 is quite a good choice, which has many great features to help us defragment our machines.
There's scheduler, you could set this app to work according to it, and there is also a manual defragger, so you can force a systems check. The defragmentation speed’s great, and it is faster then regular scan. Diskeeper 2008 performs exactly as promised. As far as I’m concerned, I have no longer to worry about my hard drives since I have installed Diskeeper - Unlike Windows’s built-in defragger; it works silently in the background to keep them defragged.
There are also other options for advanced users to tweak. Boot Time Defrag defragments your hard drive at start up, but also adds some minutes to boot process. I-FAAST defragmenting sequences files in conjunction with the automatic defragger. Frag Shield keeps critical system files from fragmenting.
There is something I should tell you. When I want to compare how much better it is then the regular slow scan, I can tell a difference, but if you’ve launched this app, it will replace Windows’s built-in defragger which could not run unless you uninstall Diskeeper 2008.
Setup:
The installation is easy and straightforward, you could easily finish that, there is no malware combined with the setup file. However, it does not offer us a shortcut to uninstall, we have to remove the entire program through Control Panel.
Interface:
The graphic user interface was pretty, however it is a little complicated, there are many buttons on panel, and it is not friendly to novices, while to power users, they could easily operate it.
System Requirements:
The disk space requirements for Diskeeper depend on several factors:
On Windows Server 2003 and Windows 2000 Server systems, Diskeeper will need about 11 MB. Allow about 10 MB of extra free space for temporary files during the installation.
If Internet Explorer is not present on your computer, some other needed files (hhupd.exe, 50comupd.exe, and wintdist.exe) may be added. Further, your system may require a new or updated version of the Microsoft Management Console (MMC), which is less than 6 MB.
Conclusion:
It can handle more than one drive simultaneously and it works in the background. If your operating system is installed properly from the inception, running or playing with Boot-time defragmentation is not necessary, unchecking it will save a lot of time for boot process. If you are not satisfied with Diskeeper 2008, there is another similar program you could have a try - AUSLogics Disk Defrag.
