The pre-eminent X Windows environment for the MS Windows platforms enabling easy access to different operating systems WinaXe is the pre-eminent X Windows application for the MS Windows platforms enabling easy access to different operating systems.

WinaXe Windows X Server transparently connects different operating systems and their applications together. You need not worry where these applications are physically located on your network.

WinaXe brings remote UNIX applications to your PC with each in a separate window. There are no discernible differences when compared to local PC applications which run simultaneously with those from the host / remote system.

WinaXe links to most UNIX hosts including Sun, Digital, Linux, HP-UX, SCO Unix, IBM (AIX) and many others. The strongest feature of this environment is that it is all happening concurrently and is totally interactive.

WinaXe is a simple but powerful 32-bit software package, which provides a cost effective way to transform your PC into a powerful X Window System workstation.

  • Security services: MIT-MAGIC COOKIE-1, XDM-AUTHENTICATION-1, XDM-AUTHORIZATION-1
  • Host access check
  • Supports following extensions: Extended-Visual-Information, Xinput, MIT-SUNDRY-NONSTANDARD, SHAPE, XTEST, XC-MISC, XC-APPGROUP, GLX for OpenGL, SECURITY, LBX

  • XDK(X11 Development Kit): X11 environment (include files and API libraries) is now implemented. The XLib, Xt, Xaw and OpenMotif-2.2.2 are now supported
  • Local XClients: mwm (based on OpenMotif 2.0), glxinfo (the GLX extension local X Client), glxgears (the GLX extension local X Client), xclock, xev, xfd, xfontsel, xkill, xlsfonts, xmodmap, xprop, xrdb, xset, xshowcmap, xwininfo

  • Mouse Unit compatible with MS Windows

  • TCP/IP protocols over Ethernet or Serial port connections
  • Optional server implementations of FTP and TFTP
  • Virtual terminal protocol Telnet and/or xdm client with XDMCP support and/or RSH and/or REXEC and/or RLOGIN
  • Optional server implementations of Berkeley Line Printer protocol
  • Login account on the host machine

    Limitations:
  • This demo version operates 30 minutes per run, after that you need to restart WinaXe Plus
