Pros: Excellently easy incremental backup, even for novice.
Cons: Online activation required, and often doesn't work.
The Bottom Line: Norton Ghost is a considerate and easy to use program that protects your data against disk crash.
Benefits:
Have you ever suffered a large or small hard drive disaster that some of your important data were lost? Have you ever wanted to update your hard disk to a bigger one, however, you have to reinstall the operation system? If you said yes, Norton Ghost is just what you need.
There are various backup programs on the market, some of which perform well. Norton Ghost, whether the backup speed or stability, is always tops among them. What’s the special about Norton Ghost is that it has made incremental backup intuitive. So, if you have given your hard drive a backup, the next time you want to backup again after using the computer for a couple of days and (surprise!) it quickly updated by first backup in minutes instead of doing another full backup. It is so considerate, isn’t it? The software's clever design gives you a great deal of power and flexibility, creating a complete backup each month and updating that backup daily, which could reduce the risk of losing our data.
Set up:
The installation is easy and straightforward, it won’t take you much time to finish that. There is no adware, spyware or other third party plug-ins.
Should you ever want to uninstall this program? It is as easy as installation. Hit the Uninstall button, the entire program will be removed.
Interface:
The interface of Norton Ghost 12 l looks and feels familiar to users of other Symantec products, such as Norton AntiVirus or SystemWorks. If you have experienced these programs, it is definitely easy for you to operate this program.
System Requirements:
It works well with Windows Vista™ Home Basic/Home Premium/Business/Ultimate and Windows® XP with Service Pack 2 Home/XP Pro/XP Media Center Edition. The hardware requirements are 300MHz or higher processor; 512MB of RAM; 160MB of available hard disk space; Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework (included on product CD if not already installed); DVD or CD drive; Microsoft® Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher (6.0 recommended).
Conclusion:
Norton Ghost 12.0 Worked as Stated. I highly recommend reading the manual prior to installation, as some of the problems that I have read about from the users are addressed.
