Pros:
The details are very elaborate in the Help file. The settings are very considerate for users. The result will be displayed at the bottom of the tool.

Cons:
The operation is a little complicated compared with other duplicate finders.

Benefits:
People seldom run into a file named exactly same with another one. For Windows would warn users not to name a second same file - there would generate a copy of that. Yet duplicate files appear as well. Sometimes, when I select files I may press "ctrl" and a new file would generate. I do not realize the problem until I meet this category tool.
The result of check made me stunned and surprised - how could the copies are much more than the original ones? These duplicate files are hidden in different folders that one could not tell.

Setup:
It doesn't take much time to install. There is no adware, spyware or malware bundled with this program, so you could install it without hesitation.

Should you decide to remove this program, there is an uninstall icon provided by it. Click it and then the program would disappear.

Interface:
When I first launched it, the interface made me a little confused--there are many tabs and buttons on it and I did not know where to start. Then I find a familiar button which looks like a wizard wand. Does it start? Thanks to the detailed Help file, it told me that the wizard wand is just what I guessed. Well, the explanation phrase is not very helpful. This could be improved better.

System Requirements:
Duplicate File Detective is compatible with Windows 98, 2000, ME and XP. The RAM requires 128 or higher; your free space should leave 5.30MB to store it. All the requirements are easy to achieve, aren't they?

Conclusion:
This is a well - designed widget for users to check duplicate files of their systems. It's very hard to consider the powerful functions along with easy operations. Though the whole operations of this tool are not hard, yet the buttons are arrayed on the interface which might confuse beginner to some extent. The most improvement of this tool is the explanation of each tab, button as well. There are several settings suitable for advanced users. I hope next version would make more functions suitable for beginners.
