XP Drivers and Vista Drivers are at your figure tips when use Driver Detective. With over 100 million downloads of Driver Detective and a database of over 1,000,000 device associated drivers Driver Detective is the finest driver update software.
Pros: Well laid out interface; an easy way to keep one’s computer up to date.
Cons: Some parts are not so good downloading wrong sound driver and the online support is also not timely.
Benefits:
There are many situations we need a powerful driver updater. For instance, a new of piece of hardware came out and you were one of the first to own, without a proper driver, the new device will not work successfully. Driver Detective is not a driver, and what it offers us are identifying devices on our system without drivers, and giving us the right link to download the most relevant matches. It could also find out the drivers need updating - if we would like to keep our system running quickly, we have to let it up to date with the latest software and updates. Driver Detective’s newly redesigned database is a large and comprehensive one; it almost contains all the drivers you could come down to.
As a driver updater program always does, it sometimes makes mistakes – the relevant match drivers maybe not the one we need. However, it performs fairly well compared with its competitors.
Set up:
The installation maybe takes you a few minutes if your PC doesn’t have Microsoft .NET framework 2.0. Fortunately, it downloads and installs the framework automatically. There is no adware as well as spyware; it’s a 100% clean program.
Should you want to remove this program? The uninstallation is as easy as the installation. It does not offer us an Uninstall button, while you could run the setup file again, and there will be 2 options for us – Repair or Remove. Select Remove and click Next, the entire program will be removed from your computer, and there are no junk files or folders left in your PC.
Interface:
It is very user-friendly software. The interface is gorgeous, and it quite matches Windows Vista’s semi-transparent color type. There is a detailed built-in Help file, but it may be useless, since all the buttons on the panel explain themselves well, you could easily catch the meanings and operate this program well.
System Requirements:
This program works well on Windows® Vista, XP Pro, XP Home, 2003 Server, and 2000 in 32 bit or 64 bit Editions. The hardware requirements are 300MHz or higher processor, 256 MB of RAM and 22 MB of hard disk space. It supports browsers including Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher, FireFox 1.2 or higher and Opera 8 or higher. What I should mention again is that NET Framework 2.0 is required for this product. If needed, it will be installed during installation.
Conclusion:
Drive Detective is a powerful program, it performs well as promised. Many users complained that some after downloading and installing, the drives still not work. This truly happens, however, we should know that some drivers require a machine restart. So, it recommends installing one driver at a time and restarting your computer after each driver install.
