Beyond Compare, by Scooter Softwareis a powerful tool for comparing files and folders. It has so many great features that I can't even begin to tell you all about it, but I'll try to hit some of the high point. For one, it's great for keeping folders synchronized, but it can lots more. For example, you can compare the contents of two ZIP format files. One feature I really like is that differences can be highlight in color. That makes it easy to see exactly where the differences are. In testing it out I used it to compare the contents of a folder on my computer with a folder on my Web site. The program was very quick and showed me exactly which files were missing, which were different, and so on. It was then an easy matter to get the folders totally synchronized. Slick.

Beyond Compare is extremely powerful, but it's also very easy-to-use. In my opinion it's great for users with all levels of experience. I like the fact that it does exactly what you want and provides you with what you need. It sometimes seems that some programs try to tell you what you want, but not Beyond Compare. The program is very flexible and intuitive. I really love the fact that it has so many configurable options. You can compare files side-by-side, automate various functions, view HTML as Web pages, and even take screen shots for later comparison. How cool is that? Very!

Beyond Compare is one of the programs that takes a task and does it well. It's obvious to me that careful thought went into creating the program because it shows. In testing it out it seemed that every single option I looked for, I found. Whether it was sending information to the clipboard or the printer, Beyond Compare did it and did it well.I like the program so much that I'm not only making it a "Pick", but I'm also making it one of my Dr. File Finder Favorites and those are few and far between. So, if you find yourself needing to compare something, whether it's two files of two folders, this is the program you need. I recommend it highly.
