1. Why program does not fit on the screen?
Like many multimedia applications TypingMaster requires an 800x600 display area (also known as the screen resolution) and SVGA monitor. All modern monitors are SVGA or better so you propably just have a lower resolution, so follow instructions below to fix the situation.
To change the resolution (Win95/98/NT)
1. Choose Start Menu..Settings..Control Panel..Display..Settings.
2. Set Desktop area to 800x600.
3. Press OK.
After this not only will Typingmaster work properly but you will also have more "space" in your display. If this doesn't fix the problem, please write to our helpdesk.
2. How to make Setup Installation Diskettes?
Winzip/Unzip can be used to create three 1.44MB installation diskettes.
1. TypingMaster 2002 self extraction installation package can be unpacked easily to 3x 1.44MB installation diskettes.
2. Start by opening the installation package (usually called typmas62.exe, tm2002.exe, typmas32.exe or similar) with Winzip.
3. Next, insert first empty 1.44MB diskette and extract the following files into it:DISK1.ID
SETUP.EXE
SETUP.INI
SETUP.INS
SETUP.ISS
SETUP.PKG
_INST32I.EX_
_ISDEL.EXE
_SETUP.1
_SETUP.DLL
_SETUP.LIB
4. Next, copy the following files diskette 2:_SETUP.2 and DISK2.ID
5. and finally diskette 3 should have files: _SETUP.3 and DISK3.ID
3. Uninstallation Fails to error "Unable to launch"?
If you have tried to remove the program normally from the Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs window, and have gotten an error message, the uninstallation should be completed manually or the hot-fix should be used to finish the uninstallation automatically.
You can either download the fixed uninstaller ( size 11 kb) to finish the uninstallation: Under some particular circumstances the uninstallation program of TypingMaster 2002 versions before 6.20.373 might not work with Win98. There is a hot-fix available here (size 11 Kb), you can view the instructions here.
OR you can complete the manual uninstallation described below:MANUAL UNINSTALLATION: The manual uninstallation requires the following steps:
1. Close both TypingMaster and Satellite if active
2. Use Windows Explorer to remove the TypingMaster folder, usually C:\Program Files\TypingMaster. Make sure you remove all the files and sub folders from TypingMaster folder.
3. Remove the TypingMaster shortcut icon from Desktop by right clicking and choosing Delete on top of it.
4. Right click on Start menu and click "Open" when the Start Menu folder opens, double click on "Programs". Then remove TypingMaster icon folder, by selecting it and pressing the "Delete" key.
5. The Uninstallation entry remains in Control Panel's Add/Remove programs section. It does not cause any harm, but if you like to make it disappear, you can use some third party tools (TweakUi) to remove the entry or contact our technical support for details.

1. Are future upgrades free?
Fixes for Free: All bug fixes and minor upgrades are always free of charge.
Current Upgrade Fees: Updating TypingMaster 98/99 to TypingMaster 2001 costs $20 USD.
Upgrade from TypingMaster 2001 to TypingMaster 2002 is free.

2. What if my computer crashes, may I load the program again for free?
Yes, but you have to save your personal license key to a safe place and you will be able to load and install the program again. If possible, consider copying the installation package to floppy diskettes or a removable media.

3. What language versions are available?
English version is available for the global use. However, TypingMaster supports most keyboards (such as QWERTY, AZERTY, QWERTZ) used all around the world.

4. Is DVORAK support available?
"DVORAK" keyboard layout is supported by TypingMaster 2002. Support is available in Basics course, Special marks and especially in ProTrainer section.

5. How can I manage the users of the program?
From the TypingMaster Setup program choose the Network installation to make sure you install the User Manager tool, which can be used e.g. to view and delete the users.
