Flux Family Secrets: The Ripple Effect
A mysterious family has contacted you and holds the secrets of your past! Fix the errors in time in this exciting Hidden Object game and take your rightful place in the Flux family! Explore famous historical sites like Hatshepsut's tomb, the Wright Brothers' workshop, Benjamin Franklin's study and many more. Flux Family Secrets: The Ripple Effect has you realign the timeline by finding misplaced objects scattered through time and solving clever puzzles.
- Game Length: there are 10 basic chapters to the game. Each chapter is further broken down into three different screens covering three different times/individuals. All three screens must be completed before moving to the next chapter.
- Timer: there is an accumulative timer for this game which gives the player the options of playing for speed (simply go faster for a lower timer score), or playing for casual enjoyment of the game.
- Objects: in each screen there are 4 historical objects divided into pieces that must be located and reassembled. Not all pieces are initially available. The guide will specify how many pieces each object is divided into and the number of initially available pieces. The pieces of the historical objects that are not immediately available will become so through the completion of mini-games and the use of items from the toolkit screen.
- Inventory: there is an inventory bar located on the bottom of each screen. This bar shows which items are hidden on that particular screen. Also on the inventory bar is an arrow button which, when pushed, will display all historical objects that have been reassembled and are ready for placement.
- Toolkit: the toolkit screen will show which items have been gathered from the screen and which are still to be found.
- Time Device: in the lower right corner of the screen is the Time Device. It is a circular gold and green dial which will indicate how many pieces of items have yet to be discovered, and how many mini-games have yet to be played for a current screen. This is also the method by which the player moves back and forth between the three screens for each chapter. Simply left-click on the device and it will bring up a round screen which gives you the option of selecting which historical figure and time you wish to travel to next.
- Hints: in the lower left corner of the screen is the hint button, as well as a zoom button for up-close and personal viewing of search screens. There is also a menu button to take you back to the main menu of the game. The hint button is refillable with a fairly quick refill time.
- Hidden Object: these are screens in which the player must locate pieces of historical objects in order to reassemble them and to place them back where they belong. Each item is part of the overall story. There are no item searches that do not move the story forward.
- Mini-Games: there are several mini-games in each chapter of the game. The nature of these games varies greatly and each provides a clue or an item that assists in moving the story and the game forward. There is something for every gaming preference! There are skip buttons for each mini-game in the event that any game seems a bit more difficult or time consuming than the player desires. There is, however, a 20 minute penalty for using the skip button!
