Email Guard protection
PC Tools AntiVirus now includes incoming and outgoing email scanning capabilities for a range of email clients and plain text email messages are scanned and any detected viruses, worms or Trojans can be automatically removed. Registered users can edit the email message tag. Email Guard also includes advanced settings to adjust ports and trusted hosts.
Internet Guard protection
The new Internet Guard protection feature scans the traffic from Internet websites and downloads for virus infections. Internet Guard can block the download, prompt the user for an action or perform both actions if an infection is detected. Ports and trusted hosts can also be adjusted using the new advanced settings.
User Interface enhancements
A new status and summary screen now provides more useful information at a glance. The screen displays information that informs you if you are using the latest version of the AntiVirus and have the latest virus definitions. You can also see when you last ran a scan and Smart Update.
Free version
PC Tools AntiVirus 3.1 now offers complete anti-virus protection with a new free version, ensuring that everyone can afford to be using leading antivirus protection. The only restriction is that the message tags cannot be removed or edited, and that personalized support is not provided.
Other enhancements include:
- The ability to detect the presence of Boot Sector Viruses.
- The ability to reset default selections on the Scan Exclusions list.
