How to update Spy Sweeper?
Webroot updates the Spy Sweeper program to keep up with changes in threats. You should update the program at least once a month to ensure that you are using the latest version.
Note: If you are upgrading from a previous version of Spy Sweeper, do not uninstall the old version first. Installing the new version over the old one retains the quarantine information from previous sweeps and lets you automatically retain your Spy Sweeper settings.
Spy Sweeper can notify you whenever a new version is available. You can also check for updates anytime. While your subscription is valid, you can download and install the updated version. Click home in the icon panel to check what version you have.
To update the Spy Sweeper program: (You must connect to the Internet to update Spy Sweeper.)
Step 1. Start Spy Sweeper, if it is not already open, and display the Home panel.
Step 2. In the icon panel, click Options. The Options panel displays.
Step 3. Click the Program Options tab. The Program Options tab displays.
Step 4. Click Update Program. You can also click the Check for Program Update link from the Home panel. If you want Spy Sweeper to automatically notify you of updates, select the Automatic Check for Updates option. Spy Sweeper opens your Internet browser and takes you to the Webroot Web site.
Step 5. See if the Web site says that an updated version is available.
Step 6. Follow the instructions on the Web site to download the file that contains the updated version. Be sure you remember where you download the file on your computer.
Step 7. Follow the installation instructions in Installing Spy Sweeper.

How to Upgrade your Webroot Spy Sweeper on Vista?
Existing Webroot Spy Sweeper and Webroot Spy Sweeper with AntiVirus customers that are not using Windows Vista should take the following steps to upgrade:
1. Open your Spy Sweeper or Spy Sweeper with AntiVirus application
2. Click on Check for Updates
3. Follow the steps to update to the latest version
Existing Webroot Spy Sweeper and Webroot Spy Sweeper with AntiVirus customers that have upgraded to Windows Vista should take the following steps:
1. Go to www.webroot.com/updates/redownload/request
2. Enter your last name and email address
3. Your download instructions with the latest version of Spy Sweeper or Webroot AntiVirus with AntiSpyware and Firewall will be emailed to you

Once registered, you will receive download instructions which point you to the latest Vista-compatible version.
