How do I know my environment is HDCP compatible?
Can I play Blu-ray discs or HD-DVDs if I declined to update PowerDVD when prompted?
PowerDVD displays the error: "Update failed. Please check your network connection and system time setting."
When trying to play Blu-ray Disc or HD DVD titles, PowerDVD displays the message: "A critical component of the player requires periodic updates
When trying to play Blu-ray Disc or HD DVD titles, PowerDVD Ultra displays an error message with error code "0103".
When trying to play Blu-ray Disc or HD DVD titles, PowerDVD Ultra can't launch the title menu.

How do I know my environment is HDCP compatible?
CyberLink BD and HD advisor tool can check your environment if it’s HDCP compatible. Open it from Start => All Programs => CyberLink PowerDVD => BD & HD Advisor.
Click “Scan for Blu-ray Disc Support” or “Scan for HD DVD Support”.
Check item Video connection type. If your environment is HDCP compatible, you can see the result, “Digital (with HDCP)”, and get green dot.
To play Blu-ray Disc or HD DVD titles on a computer through a digital DVI or HDMI interface, the following 3 criteria need to be satisfied:
Graphics card is HDCP-compliant.
Graphics card driver supports HDCP.
Display is HDCP ready.

Can I play Blu-ray discs or HD-DVDs if I declined to update PowerDVD when prompted?
No, you may not be able to watch Blu-ray Discs or HD-DVDs if you declined to update PowerDVD. PowerDVD needs to update because the AACS key requires periodical updates for content protection reasons. Blu-ray Discs and HD DVDs have adopted AACS (Advanced Access Content System) to protect the digital content. AACS keys are required to play some Blu-ray Discs and HD DVD titles. Issue:
PowerDVD cannot install the patch for AACS renewal and therefore the following error message is displayed:
Cause:
The PowerDVD update requires an Internet connection.
Your operating system’s time setting should be correct.
Solution:
- Ensure your network is available for connecting to the Internet. PowerDVD doesn't support off-line updates for this patch.
- Try to disable Windows firewall or other 3rd party firewalls.
- Check your operating system time. The update server will check your system time before updating the patch.
- Go to the following URL to download the patch again and install it.
Note: You may not be able to watch both old and new Blu-ray Disc or HD DVD titles if the update process fails.

PowerDVD displays " A critical component of the player requires periodic updates. " message when you are trying to play a Blu-ray Disc or HD DVD title.
Cause:
Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD titles have adopted AACS (Advanced Access Content System) to protect the digital content. AACS keys are required to play some Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD titles. AACS keys were integrated into your PowerDVD for copy protection purposes. Occasional renewal of the AACS key is required. This error message appears because the title you're playing requires a newer AACS key.
Solution:
Click Yes on the error message dialog to connect to the CyberLink Web site and download the updated version of PowerDVD for AACS keys renewal. If you wish to download the patch afterward, please go to the following URL to retrieve it.

When trying to play Blu-ray Disc or HD DVD titles, PowerDVD Ultra displays an error message with error code "0103".
Issue:
PowerDVD Ultra can’t play Blu-ray Disc or HD DVD titles through a digital DVI or HDMI interface.
Cause:
This could be due to HDCP incompatible problems with Graphics card, Graphics card driver and Display device.
Solution:
1. Graphics Card:
Some Graphics cards don’t support HDCP. Please visit manufacture website to check if it support HDCP.
2. Graphics Card Driver:
Both of ATI Catalyst and nVidia PureVideo HD drivers can support Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD playback. Please make sure you download and install ATI Catalyst 6.7 and nVidia PureVideo HD 92.91 or later version. Please visit the home page of your graphics card manufacturer to download the most recent drivers.
3. Display Device:
Display device should support HDCP. Please contact display manufacturer for more information.

When trying to play Blu-ray Disc or HD DVD titles, PowerDVD Ultra can't launch the title menu.
Issue:
PowerDVD Ultra can’t launch the title menu.
Cause:
PowerDVD Ultra was not installed properly or it’s the PowerDVD issue.
Solution:
1. Update your graphics card and audio card driver.
2. Install PowerDVD Ultra again. Before commencing, close all unnecessary running programs. After installation, try playing Blu-ray Disc or HD DVD titles again.
3.If you still face the same issue, please contact CyberLink Customer Support and provide your Blu-ray Disc or HD DVD titles’ name.
