Cyberlink PowerDirector 7 - Powerful Digital Video Editing Software

PowerDirector 7 installation failure may be caused by 2 reasons:

1. Fail to install PowerDirector 7 because of reboot during installation. This issue is usually due to previous builds not being completely uninstalled. If you reboot your system during the installation of PowerDirector 7, you may not be able to successfully install it next time. In this case, please install the Windows clean up utility via the link below: http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe . You can download a clean up program to remove existing versions and the Installer should work normally.

2. Fail to install due to QuickTime is not installed. in some cases, PowerDirector 7 cannot be successfully installed because the previous step of QuickTime installation cannot completed. This may due to that there is another 3rd party codecs that has installed QuickTime alternative codec, such as Storm Codec or K-Lite Codec Pack. We sugguest you to uninstall these codec packs, and install the official Apple QuickTime 7 Player. After QuickTime is installed, try installing PowerDirector 7 again.

I can't launch PowerDirector in Windows Vista after installation.

We recommend that you can turn off UAC on Windows Vista, and follow the steps below to resolve this problem:

1. Please go to: Control Panel --> User Accounts and Family Safety --> User Accounts--> turn User Account Control on or off.
2. Disable the option "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer.
3. Reboot the computer.

Currently CyberLink PowerDirector supports only Sony HDR-FX1, HDR-HC1 and HDR-HC3. For new HDV models, please check for future patches by clicking the Check Upgrade button, or visit the CyberLink web site for updates.

After disc menu shows, it will begins to play main clips automatically.

1.If using motion video as the background, the starting time for Autoplay is the length of the background video (maximum as 99 seconds)
2.If for Still image background but with Motion thumbnail, the starting time for Autoplay is the Motion thumbnail duration you set. (Default duration of Motion thumbnail is 10 seconds.)
3.If for still image background but without Motion thumbnail, the starting time of AutoPlay is 15 seconds.

PowerDirector 7  (after build 1731b) has a new feature for menu.
After disc menu shows, menu will not move on until a menu button is pressed.
You can select it on "create disc"->"Preference"-> and check "Auto-menu timeout"

I got a burning error code when I burn my video to DVD, what can I do?

This could be due to various problems with your hardware, software or drivers. We are currently investigating all the feedback we've got from end-users with similar situations. As for now, please provide the following information to us for more verification.

1.PowerDirector build number. You can examine the build number by clicking Help > About PowerDirector.
2.System file (dxdiag). To do so, click Windows Start > Run, type "dxdiag". Then click Save All Information button to save the result in a text file and send it to us.
3.Error dialog box print screen-> please click Details button on the dialog appears and snapshot it to us for further analysis.
4.The information of other burning software installed in the PC.
5.Describe the steps to create the error message.
6.Please provide your source files.
