Windows Phone Developer Tools: 100% Clean

The Windows Phone Developer Tools is all very geeky, but Microsoft has released its developer tools into the wild for developers across the world to get building apps. This Beta release represents the near final version of the tools for building applications and games for Windows Phone 7.

Benefits:

An important part of this beta release is the completed Application Certification Requirements list (.pdf here) which means that applications built in this beta will be mostly ready to submit to the Windows Marketplace. New tools for unlocking Windows Phones and deploying applications to unlocked devices have also been included in this beta. Many namespaces that were previously distributed over several different DLLs have now been consolidated into one. In addition, there have been realignments and changes in several other namespaces as well. Push Notifications, Accelerometer and App Bar APIs have all been updated.

Setup:

Click on the vm_web.exe from the Files in the download section. This will start the installation of Windows Phone Developer Tools Beta and install the necessary components on your machine. Please review the Release Notes for additional details before running setup.

Interface:

The verson of this software is updated but the interface is not change, you do not worry about how to use it, which is the same to the former one, and the interface makes you feel relaxed because of the coloful screen. It will protect you from being tired.

  • 1 Microsoft Expression Blend for Windows Phone
  • 2 Blend is now integrated completely into the Windows Phone Developer Tools Beta.
  • 3 Developer Registration Utility ¨C Now you can unlock you Windows Phone 7 device for development purposes.
  • 4 XAP Deployment Tool ¨C if you want to deploy XAP files directly to an unlocked device, now you can.
  • 5 The Windows Phone 7 API ¨C we are getting close to completion. Many namespaces that were previously distributed over several different DLLs have now been consolidated into one. In addition, there have been realignments and changes in several other namespaces as well. Push Notifications, Accelerometer and App Bar APIs have all been updated.
  • 6 Additional Controls ¨C There are some additional controls coming in the next few weeks (i.e. Panorama and Pivot) which did not make the beta release.
