Use Roxio Easy VHS to DVD for Mac software to transfer Hi8 video to DVD, you will need the following
hardware and software:
1. Roxio Easy VHS to DVD for Mac kit (USB 2.0 video capture device included);
2. A VHS VCR or Hi8, Video8 analog camcorder;
3. Macintosh computer with a Dual Processor PowerPC G5, or Intel processor;
4. DVD recordable drive for DVD-Video creation;
5. 512MB RAM or more;
6. Available USB 2.0 port;
7. iMovie HD, 08, or 09.
Insert the installation disc into your drive. If purchased online and

Step 1: Connecting Hi8 analog camcorder to Mac.
a. Connect the Roxio Video Capture USB device to a USB 2.0 port on your computer.
b. Connect the Roxio adapter to the video capture device.
c. Using the video cable provided with your Hi8 camcorder, connect the video Line Out connector on Hi8 camcorder to one of the two video plugs on the Roxio adapter.
d. Connect the two Audio Out connectors on your Hi8 analog camcorder to the audio adapter (red and white plugs) attached to your Roxio USB capture device.
Ensure the Roxio Video Capture USB device is connected to a USB 2.0 port on computer, and that your Hi8 analog camcorder is connected to the Roxio adapter.

Step 2: Transferring Hi8 analog camcorder tapes to computer.
In the Applications folder on your hard disk, open the Easy VHS to DVD for Mac folder and double-click the Easy VHS to DVD Capture icon. Select a name for your Hi8 video wants to transfer from tapes and select an approximate length for the video.
a. The Connect Video page allows you to select between using the S-Video or Composite (RCA) connection. You can also preview your movie to ensure that your analog video displays correctly.
b. The Connect Audio page allows you to verify that audio can be recorded correctly.
c. The Record page allows you to click the Start Recording button. When Hi8 analog video has been transferred and saved to your iMovies
folder on Mac, you can select one of the following options:

Step 3: Transferring Hi8 video to DVD.
Open the Easy VHS to DVD for Mac folder and double-click the Toast Basic
icon to launch the included Toast software. At the top-left of the Toast window, click "Video", then choose the DVD-Video project to do optional disc settings, such as Automatic or Custom Encoding.
Insert a blank, recordable DVD, and click the Record button, choose a recorder from the list, then
configure recording options, such as Number of Copies.
Click Record to continue, Toast displays a progress bar and status information as it transfers video from Hi8 tapes to DVD.
