Guides: for you to partition hard disk on Vista.
The Rescue CD version allows you to format, delete, set the active partition, and make repairs or property changes to
existing partitions, and create new partition from free space.
Starting up the rescue CD
Insert the Rescue CD and restart your computer, if you haven't made the Rescue CD, you also can use SystemSuite installation CD as a Rescue CD.
Step 1. Restarting the computer can take 15-30seconds to boot up.
Step 2. When the program first starts, it does a general scan to analyze your hard drives and partitions before displaying the Rescue Disk Wizard.
NOTE: If Vista doesn't start from the CD, check that the System BIOS is set to boot from a CD.

Select Manual Patitional option from the Rescue Disk options, you can also access the tools listed in the Wizard from the Start Menu.
The Rescue Disk Start Menu looks and functions much like the Windows Start menu.
Partitioning hard disk on Vista
The Partitioning window always opens displaying the first physical drive, labeled as Drive 0 in the graphical display. The legend in the lower-right uses colors to indicate the type of file system installed on the partition. Both FAT12 and FAT16 partitions are displayed as FAT.
• The Select Disk toolbar section shows the selected drive information.
• The General tab shows the selected drive, partition information, and
used disk space.
• The Details tab shows the same information, but shows cluster and
sector information for the selected drive.
The Main Window shows the entire drive divided into partitions. The primary partitions on Vista are all on the left and logical partitions (partitions within a partition) if any, shown on the right. The logical partitions are contained inside of the extended partition.
Step 1. Click the desired partition in the graphical display to select it. An arrow appears to the left of the selected partition.
Step 2. Select the drive from the drive drop-down list to change vista drives (if you have multiple hard-drives).
NOTE: If you have more than three hard drives, you can select one of the first three drives by clicking the buttons labeled, 0, 1, and 2 on the Select Disk toolbar. Open the drop-down list to select from additional drives.
From the selected drive you can:
- Delete existing partitions.
- Create new partition from Free space.
- Use the Advanced Tools to perform a variety of tasks.
