Strength:
The operations are very easy and the functions are very considerate for users. Through this tool, you could add PDF as well as HTML format files to the conversion list.

Weakness:
It doesn't work very well in the trial version, for some features are limited. The paid version is nicer than the trial. Some features seem not to be friendly to users.

Benefits:
At first, let's get familiar with CHM. CHM means "Compiled Windows HTML Help file", which is a self-contained file system. A CHM file could store the Help file with combining image and script and supports batch files. Thus we could compile a few HTML Help files into one CHM file.

This tool is easy of use, we just select some files to add in the list and then it would work automatically. It could create your CHM files from Html files, Text files, Microsoft Word Documents and Adobe Acrobat Document--just select one of these kinds of files, and you could wait for the new generated format.

Sometimes we need to decompile a CHM file and I often launch DOS to meet our needs; this way is easy and convenient. Yet this tool is out of my imagination, it's extremely easy to decompile a CHM file--just press a hotkey (F7) and the decompiled folder will come out. It could be seen as an easy and efficient tool, for it is much more convenient and considerate for users.

Setup:
It takes only a few seconds to install. There is no adware; spyware as well as malware bundled with it, so you could install it without hesitation.
Should you decide to remove this facility, there is an uninstall icon for you to delete it. Click the icon and the whole tool will be removed immediately.

Interface:
As its category belongs to utilities, the interface is not as beautiful as multi-media tools. Maybe the most suitable adjective for this tool is "simple"; while simple does not mean the designs are bad--a utility tool should make its operation easily. Besides the simplicity, there are several tips before you launch the program--it can be seen as a considerate idea, for which is very convenient for beginners to read.

System Requirements
It is compatible with Windows 98, 2000, 2003, ME, NT, and XP. The RAM requirement is 32MB or higher, 5MB free space and Microsoft Word 2000 or higher version. The requirements are very easy to achieve.

Conclusion
PowerCHM is designed for users who often create Help files online or offline. This tool could compile or decompile CHM files. I tried a folder to be compiled and it took several minutes--thus I was impatient to wait for the results; while it decompiled CHM folders with a much quicker speed.
The tool should be improved its user - friendly interface.
