Good:
PSP Movie Creator has a fairly good reputation on market. I've heard it before, and then I searched some users' reviews on it, finding that they reflected a common praise: it helps users with converting DVD or Video files in one click while most soft wares may need more steps than PSP Movie Creator.
Bad:
Wouldn't it be nice if it supported more formats than just MP4's? I have tried to convert a RM format file but failed. I was confused at first, for PSP Movie Converter says it's able to convert RM files (I've just got to know that RM format doesn't belong to MP4's).
Setup
The speed of installation is pretty quick. The launching is not very nice, because its reminder appears before launching, closing as well. The reminder should be designed with more considerations, for it may raise users' repulsion. PSP Movie Creator offers a quick way to uninstall, that is, we don't need to delete the software by Control Panel.
Interface
The interface of PSP Movie Creator is attractive and lively. Why do I say that? Because there is a snapshot of Sony PSP and some film-like icons on the top of main interface, which allure people to try it at once¡ªpretty attractive.
The main button is designed at right hand below, which is different from some recreational soft wares whose are always designed on the top of the main menu. Under ¡°Open¡± button, there is a line directing how to use. The line is a bit small and difficult to see very clearly. I ignore it at the first time because of its ¡°mini size¡±.
The process watching window is designed pretty well by which you can preview the video file that you chose.
Features
In all, PSP Movie Creator is easy to use and supports various video thumbnails during recording and preview. It is designed for different groups¡ªfrom greenhorns to advanced users. But some users complained one of its features¡ªautomatic file naming. Though it is convenient and saves lots of time, some users would rather name the file by themselves instead of automatic file naming. Maybe they don't like the name which is given by the gadget. As far as I'm concerned, this flaw should be avoid by publisher¡ªit can be designed 2 buttons for users to choose. Then, manual naming of files will be as convenient as automatic naming.
System Requirements
It runs smoothly in almost all Windows operating systems except Win95, but it can not run in Mac OS so far. Notice: it does require a USB cable or memory stick reader to transfer movies/video files onto Sony PSP as well as a DVD-ROM, a DVD video player software installed in your PC (e.g. WinDVD, PowerDVD, etc) in order to convert DVD to PSP movies. Furthermore, you'd better release 18.5M space.
Conclusion
PSP Movie Creator is welcomed by most users and it really performs pretty well in its functions. Easy to use, convert, and succeeds in higher speed compared with other similar goods on market. The next thing is to better the interface to make it more convenient for users.
