Good:
It owns advanced video editing features. The video and audio output is very good with high quality.
Bad:
It is a little expensive.
The Bottom Line
Pocket DVD Studio is one of the easiest programs to use for your Pocket PC. It allows you to adjust the movie's file size so you can pack more on your PDA.
Like many of you, I want to rip some wonderful DVDs to play on my PDA. However, I gave up after spending a lot of time on technical forums trying getting some useful tools to work. Before I start to use Pocket DVD Studio, I have tried at least 3 different top rated DVD converters and none of them makes me feel satisfied, for some have no sound and some are very slow. The first time I launched Pocket DVD Studio, I got attracted by this pretty software. It works great and is very easy to use.
Set up:
The download file for Pocket DVD Studio 11 is about 6.98MB, and installation is quick and straightforward. You can easily finish by just following the Wizard. After installation, Pocket DVD Studio occupies only 11.6MB of disk space. And that could be ignored by today’s user whose PC disk space is at least 80GB (1GB=1024MB).
If you just want to rip one DVD and never use this program or related software, you can easily remove the entire program from your computer just clicking “uninstall Pocket-DVD Studio”, and it doesn’t take a long time. If you frequently convert videos, Pocket DVD Studio is an excellent program which you never want to leave.
Interface
The interface of Pocket DVD Studio is concise, and there are just a few frequently function-icons setting on the panel. Beside that it also provides advanced video editing features for the people who need them. So whether you are a novice or an advanced user, you can easily control it and enjoy it.
Benefits
Reducing intermediate conversion steps saves a lot of your time and produces much better video/audio quality with no loss in picture details. The conversion of Pocket DVD Studio is 300+% faster than other software while supporting full DVD features. It’s great, since I am a novice that some parameters I don’t know how to set them, so I just click “Start” button, all the other things I left to the program, it can automatically finish the work.
Your video will not fit on your fix-sized memory card? With Pocket DVD Studio, this will never happen. You can see and adjust the size precisely before you start conversion. While other software may require 4 to 9GB additional free disk space, Pocket DVD Studio needs no temporary disk space. When you want to split 500MB video into two 250MB video files, just do it, Pocket DVD Studio supports that function.
System Requirements:
Pocket-DVD Studio runs on PC (Microsoft Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP) (No Mac version has been planned yet).
Requires a DVD-ROM, a DVD Player installed in your PC (e.g. WinDVD, PowerDVD, etc).
Converted movies run on all Pocket PCs (Pocket PC 2002, Pocket PC 2003, Pocket PC 2003 SE, support both QVGA and VGA screens), Palm devices (Palm OS 5.0 or above).
Use Windows Media Player to play WMV file on your Pocket PC. (Default).
Use TCPMP player to play the AVI file on your Pocket PC, Palm.
Conclusion
Pocket-DVD Studio is an excellent conversion tool for both novices and advanced users, if you have a PDA, Pocket-DVD Studio is extremely recommended. In the next version, I hope the designers can solve the following problems:
1. Could the program support VISTA?
2. Could the program provide a Mac version?
By the way, I recommend some other conversion software to you; you can try them and compare which is better for you:
