The question was: "What program can I use to get the most functionality out of the Windows clipboard?" My response was: ClipMate! ClipMate, by Thornsoft Development is the clipboard extender I use.

It's on every computer I use and my entire family grew up using ClipMate. Over the years I've evaluated every other clipboard extender and in my opinion, ClipMate is the best!

I do a lot of cutting and pasting. I copy the links from Firefox and paste them into Boxer and for doing that I use ClipMate It makes your Windows "clipboard" into something truly useful. It turns it from an apparent afterthought into a really powerful tool. ClipMate can hold hundreds of clips and you can even create folders to house special clip items. In the screen shot you can see my ClipMate folderrs.

I have one just for Tucows-related items, one for my marketing business, one from private things like credit card numbers, and more. I have one collection called Hold where I keep clips that I may want to use again and I don't want them deleted. I can go back in and paste something multiple times and that includes things like graphics images. In writing I actually use ClipMate as an editing tool, helping to move something I've written from one spot to the next. Slick!

ClipMate, is a powerful tool that you'll find yourself using all the time. In fact, try it and you'll find you come to depend on it. My clip collections were all created years ago and I've moved them from computer to computer. I denote them as safe collections which means ClipMate warns me if I try to delete something. You can move clips between collections, rename clips, remove useless characters from text, and lots, lots more. So, if you want a program that really extends the Windows clipboard, ClipMate is your solution!
