Besides import an existing video from your local disk, WebVideo Author allows you to record your own videos by using Webcam. Also, you can import videos from your digital DV or other recording device like TV tuner card.
Configure Capture Device
If it is the first time you use Webcam in WebVideo Author, a Capture Device Wizard will launch to guide you to properly configure you video and audio device. There are three ways for you to launch the wizard, 1. click on the upper left of the main interface; 2. click on the player pane; 3. choose ˇ°Configure Capture Deviceˇ± from the Capture menu. Just follow the Wizard to configure your device step by step. What you should notice is that the video captured by Webcam is not compressed, therefore its size could be extremely large, and you need enough disk space (10GB or higher is recommended) to temporarily store it. But, take it easy, the size of the converted video is very small. After you properly configured capture devices, the Wizard will not appear unless you choose ˇ°Configure Capture Deviceˇ± from the Capture menu.
Launch Camera
Click or choose "Launch Camera" from Capture menu to launch camera. You preview the image on player pane. Click "Start Capture" from Capture menu or click on the player pane to start capture video from camera. Click to end capture. The captured video appears on the video pane.
