In Video settings, you are allowed to change the input properties, video properties, and video layout.
You neet to specify a definition for the output video first. Click to select a resolution from the drop down list.
You see the width and height below the drop down list. Different BlackBerry has different physical screen resolution, therefore, if you want the video to be displayed in full screen, you should refer to the manual that comes with your BlackBerry to know what its resolution is.
At the bottom of the "Video" pane you see a hint of how to set the page size of your PowerPoint file to get best output quality. If the imported files are not in the best page size, especially they are smaller than the recommended size, the output file may looks blurry.
Preferences
Here you configure how PPT to BlackBerry processes the original PowerPoint slide show.
- Aspect Ratio
You can keep the original aspect ratio of the presentation in
the output movie by choosing "Keep the original aspect ratio", but if the aspect ratio of your presentation is different from the one of play window or screen, you may see black bars around the presentation while playing back.
If you do not want to see the black bars, choose "Adjust the slide size to fill screen" to force your presentation to fill every pixel of the play window or screen, but it may cause your presentation looks distorted.
- Audio
Mixer device: Choose a mixer device to processing audio. Usually, it is recommended to use the default device, unless you know which is better.
Recording control: If you use English operation system, it is recommended to use the default setting. If the language of your Windows is not English, please choose the recording control matching "Stereo Mix" in English. To make sure the channel works properly, click "Test" to have a recording test on this channel. Follow the prompt instruction carefully to finish the test.
NOTE: This option is not available under Vista, we will improve it in the later version.
Retain sounds by recording
Some sounds cannot be directly converted, such as sounds of a flash movie on your presentation, please choose this option to retain them on the output video, or the sounds of the flash movie will not be retained in the output video. But, sometimes this option may cause audio unsynchronized with video.
NOTE: This option is not available under Vista, we will improve it in the later version.
- Image & Text
Here you set image and text preference for the output video. The default setting is recommended. If you prefer sharper text, please choose Text Quality Preference; if you prefer smooth image, please choose Image Quality Preference, in this way the text may look blurred a little.
More settings
- Video
Frame rate: Frame rate is the number of frames displayed per second. For human eyes, 24 fps(frames per second) is enough. Higher frame rate may necessary for rapid moving pictures. Higher frame rate means larger file size.
Quality: Choose the quality you preferred for output video. Higher quality means larger file size.
Format: The format here means the encoding format of video. You may refer the glossary for more information about encoder.
- Audio
Fidelity: Choose a sample rate for audio. Sample rate is the frequency that program samples sounds. You hear better quality by choosing higher sample rate, but sample rate higher than the one of the original file is useless. Sound quality depends on many factors, sample rate is one of them. Higher sample rate does not guarantee higher sound quality.
Quality: Choose the quality you preferred for audio. Higher quality means larger file size.
Format: The format here means the encoding format of audio. You may refer the glossary for more information about encoder.
Video layout
This setting is designed to make sure videos can be fully displayed. For some devices, the edge of display area (CRT monitor for example) is cut because of manufacture limitation. In this condition you need this function to ensure the video be displayed completely. If you use LCD display to view videos, please choose Full size to make your video displayed without borders.
- Border
Safe Size: Safe size is the area of screen that video can be played on the screen without overflow. If you choose safe size, the video will be played on the central area of screen with borders around it.
Normal Size: Normal size ensures that the output window fits the screen of most CRT monitors. However, the video with normal size may still have overflow when being played on old TV sets. You can preview the video movie output in the preview screen and choose a proper size.
Full Size: Full size is the full display area of screen. If you choose full size, the video will play on screen without borders.
Besides, you may drag the slider to change the border Weight of video, you may preview it instantly on the right pane.
- Background Fill
Color : PPT to BlackBerry allows you to use gradient color to fill the background. There are three colors to choose, and you may change the linear angle and stop position of the second color to meet your needs. Try it yourself, see what happens! Have a fun.
Picture: You may fill the background with a picture, it could be a one from the gallery that comes with PPT to BlackBerry, or your favorite images from local disk.
Click to open the gallery and pick a picture you like to apply it as the background.
Click to select a picture from your local disk and set it as the background.
NOTE: You see background only when there are borders around the video.
