Editing E-mail Client Accounts to Work with Spam Shredder
Once you set up your e-mail accounts in Spam Shredder, you must edit your account information in your e-mail client. This permits Spam Shredder to act as an e-mail server between your e-mail client and your e-mail server as described in How Spam Shredder Intercepts E-mail.
You need the information from Spam Shredder for this account that you just set up as described in Adding Accounts to Spam Shredder. Leave Spam Shredder open to the E-mail Accounts panel and select the account you are setting up from the list of accounts. You need the POP3 server and port that Spam Shredder assigned to this account as shown in Figure 5 .

To edit e-mail client accounts to work with Spam Shredder:
- Find the e-mail account information where it lists the POP3 server and POP3 port.
- Write down the current POP3 server and port settings to be sure you have them for the future.
- Edit the POP3 Server and POP3 Port fields to match what Spam Shredder assigned to this account as shown in Figure 5 .
- The POP3 Server field is always localhost. The POP3 Port is a number that Spam Shredder assigns based on the next available port on your computer.
- Save the information.
- The next time you receive mail from this account, Spam Shredder will intercept spam e-mail and either place them in quarantine or delete them, depending on the options you select. For more information about Spam Shredder options, see Setting Spam Shredder Filtering Options.
