Setting Up E-mail Accounts
Spam Shredder needs information about the e-mail accounts you want it to protect. If you are using Outlook, Outlook Express, or Eudora, Spam Shredder detects your existing accounts and turns on spam protection automatically. You do not need to do anything else to set up these e-mail accounts.
If you later add accounts to or change the accounts in Outlook Express, Spam Shredder can redetect them. For more information, see Redetecting Outlook Express Accounts. If you later add accounts to Outlook or Eudora, Spam Shredder will detect them automatically when you restart Outlook or Eudora to use the new account.
If you are using an e-mail client (that is, your e-mail software) other than Outlook, Outlook Express, or Eudora, for example Mozilla, you must set up each e-mail account that you want protected. Spam Shredder can work with any POP3 e-mail client. If you are not sure whether you use a POP3 e-mail client, ask your system administrator, check the software's online help, or check the settings for your e-mail accounts.
For more information about how Spam Shredder works, see Understanding Spam Shredder.
To set up the e-mail accounts, you have to do the following:
