Closing Spam Shredder
When you are viewing the Spam Shredder window, as shown in Understanding the Spam Shredder Window, you can click Min when you are finished setting up Spam Shredder. Clicking Min closes the window, but keeps Spam Shredder running.
Note:
Normally, you should keep Spam Shredder running to ensure that it is using your settings to "sort" your incoming e-mail. You know it is running if you see the icon shredder_systray.gif" id="wp1016075" border="0" hspace="0" vspace="0"/> in the system tray in the lower-right corner of your screen.
If you want to completely stop Spam Shredder from running, you can close it. You need to do this when you install a new version of Spam Shredder.
Caution:
If you are using Outlook or Eudora, closing Spam Shredder will also close these programs. Be sure to save all e-mails you are editing (Spam Shredder reminds you) before closing Spam Shredder.
To close Spam Shredder completely:
- Do one of the following:
- Right-click the Spam Shredder icon
shredder_systray.gif" id="wp1016082" border="0" hspace="0" vspace="0"/> in your system tray and select Close from the pop-up menu. The system tray is in the lower-right corner of your screen.
- If the Spam Shredder window is open, click Close.
- Spam Shredder warns you that it will not protect your inbox if you close the program.
- Click Shutdown to close Spam Shredder.
