Starting Spam Shredder

You can start Spam Shredder and display the main window a number of ways, depending on the options you selected when you installed it.

Spam Shredder starts automatically when you start either Outlook or Eudora.

Note: You should always start Spam Shredder before starting Outlook Express. The best way to do this is to start Spam Shredder automatically when you start Windows. To set this option, click Options in the icon panel, click the Program tab, and select the Load at Windows Startup option. We recommend using this option.

Start Spam Shredder and display the main window using one of the following methods:

If Spam Shredder is running in your system tray (you should see the Spam Shredder icon shredder_systray.gif" id="wp1011881" border="0" hspace="0" vspace="0"/> in the lower-right corner of your screen), do one of the following to display the Spam Shredder main window:
Double-click the Spam Shredder icon.
Right-click the Spam Shredder icon and select Restore from the pop-up menu.
If you are starting Spam Shredder for the first time and have e-mail accounts set up in Outlook, Outlook Express, or Eudora, Spam Shredder displays a window that shows each account it detected. If you want Spam Shredder to protect these accounts, leave the accounts selected on the left side of the window and click OK.
The Spam Shredder main window displays. This is where you can change your Spam Shredder settings and view quarantined e-mail. For more information, see Understanding the Spam Shredder Window, Setting Up Spam Shredder, and Managing Quarantined and Delivered E-mail.
Click Min to close the Spam Shredder window, but keep Spam Shredder running in your system tray and monitoring your e-mail.
If you did not select the Start Spam Shredder option during installation or you closed Spam Shredder completely, click Start, point to Programs, point to Webroot, point to Spam Shredder, click Spam Shredder or double-click the Spam Shredder icon on your computer desktop.
This starts Spam Shredder and displays the main window.
If you are using the trial version, a reminder window displays letting you know how many days are left in your trial. To continue using the trial version, click Continue Trial. To buy Spam Shredder, click Buy It Now. If your trial period has expired, click Buy It Now to buy Spam Shredder. You must be connected to the Internet for the Buy It Now button to work.
