Changing Outlook Express Wash Items

You can change several wash items that are related to Outlook Express, which is an e-mail program that comes with Windows. These settings are only applicable if you use Outlook Express to send or receive e-mail.

Note: These options only affect Outlook Express. If you use any version of Outlook that came with Microsoft Office, these options do not apply.

To change Outlook Express wash items:

Start Window Washer, if it is not already open, and display the Window Washer window.
For more information, see Starting Window Washer.
In the icon panel, click Wash Setup.
The Wash Setup panel displays.
Click Edit to the right of Outlook Express.
Select or deselect the Outlook Express options you want.

Option	Description
Inbox	Outlook Express uses this folder to store e-mail messages you receive until you delete them or move them to another folder. This option permanently deletes the e-mail messages in this folder from your computer.
Outbox	Outlook Express uses this folder to store e-mail messages you want to send until you send them. This option permanently deletes the e-mail messages in this folder from your computer.
Deleted Items	Outlook Express uses this folder to store deleted e-mail messages. When you delete an e-mail message, Outlook Express does not actually remove it from your computer. Outlook Express moves it to the Deleted Items folder. This option permanently deletes the e-mail messages in this folder from your computer.
Sent Items	Outlook Express uses this folder to store e-mail messages you send. This option permanently deletes the e-mail messages in this folder from your computer.
Outlook Express Log File	This log file stores commands, errors, and other information that have been sent to and from your mail servers. This log can be useful for troubleshooting. This option deletes the log file from your computer.

Click Apply.
