Shutting Down Window Washer

When you are viewing the Window Washer window, as shown in Understanding the Window Washer Window, you can click Minimize when you are finished setting up Window Washer. Clicking Minimize closes the window, but keeps Window Washer open in the system tray (lower-right corner of your monitor).

If you have set up any scheduled washes or set Window Washer to run whenever you close your browser or shut down (turn off) Windows, you should keep it open in your system tray. You know it is open if you see the icon in the system tray in the lower-right corner of your screen.

If you want to completely stop Window Washer from running, you can shut it down. You need to do this when you install a new version of Window Washer.

To shut down Window Washer completely:

Do one of the following:
Right-click the Window Washer icon in your system tray and select Shutdown Washer from the pop-up menu. The system tray is in the lower-right corner of your screen.
If the Window Washer window is open, click Close .
Window Washer displays a message letting you know that any automatic washes you have set up will not run after you close Window Washer and asks you to confirm that you want to close Window Washer.
You can disable this message by clicking Options, then click the Schedule tab, and select the Disable Window Washer Shutdown Message option. For more information, see Shutting Down Window Washer.
Click Yes to shut down Window Washer.
