Updating Custom Wash Items

Window Washer can notify you whenever a new Webroot Custom Wash Item or a new version of an existing Custom Wash Item is available. You can also check for Custom Wash Item updates anytime.

Custom Wash Items come with Window Washer and wash (delete) unnecessary files related to commonly used programs. When a new Custom Wash Item is available, you can activate it, which means that Window Washer will use it when you run a wash.

If you want to activate an existing Webroot Custom Wash Item that you did not activate previously, see Activating Webroot Custom Wash Items.

Note: You must connect to the Internet to update Custom Wash Items.

To update Webroot Custom Wash Items:

Start Window Washer, if it is not already open, and display the Window Washer window.
For more information, see Starting Window Washer.
In the icon panel, click Home.
Click Check Now.
Window Washer accesses the Webroot Web site and displays messages about the status of any updates. If there are updated Custom Wash Items, Window Washer downloads and activates them for you. You should review the new Webroot Custom Wash Items and determine if you want to keep them activated.

If you want Window Washer to automatically notify you of updates, click Options, the click the Program Settings tab, and select the Select Automatically Check for Window Washer and Custom Wash Item Updates from Webroot option.
