Running a sweep

During a sweep, Spy Sweeper performs a three-step process:

1.	Sweep. Spy Sweeper searches your computer for known threats, looking for any items that match definitions in the Webroot database and that meet the criteria specified in the Option settings. (Make sure the threat definitions are always up-to-date, as described in Updating threat definitions.)

2.	Quarantine. Spy Sweeper lists all items that matched definitions and lets you determine whether to send the items to the Quarantine, where they are rendered inoperable and cannot harm your computer, or to keep the items in their current locations.

3.	Summary. Spy Sweeper summarizes actions taken for each found item.

You have two options for when to run a sweep:
