Antivirus and behavioral protection

Spy Sweeper with AntiVirus: These options are available only in the Spy Sweeper with AntiVirus version.

When Antivirus Protection is turned on, it provides added protection for the following options:

Browser Helper Object (BHO)

•

ActiveX

•

Alternate Data Stream Execution

•

System Services

•

Execution

•

File System

•

Startup Items

•

E-mail Attachments

To change the Antivirus Protection or Behavioral Protection settings:

1.

In the Icon panel, click Options.

2.

Click the Shields tab.

3.

Select or deselect the options you want. A green check mark indicates the option is turned on.

Shield type

Description

Antivirus Protection

Protect against viruses

Enables the Antivirus Protection Shield.

Behavioral Detection

Enable behavioral detection

Enables additional protection from potential threats by searching for suspicious behavior typical of malware programs. This option can locate many emerging threats, but on very rare occasions, a legitimate program could be classified as malicious because it shows malware-like behavior.

Automatically quarantine behavioral detections

Places any of the items found with Behavioral Detection in the Quarantine.
