Main window and Home panelThe Spy Sweeper main window is divided into two areas: the Icon panel at the left allows you to select options, while the Main panel on the right displays the corresponding settings available for the selected icon.The following table describes the areas of the main window.
General Spy Sweeper window areas Icon panel Allows you to select areas of the program for reviewing overall status (Home icon), running sweeps (Sweep icon), setting shields (Shields icon), viewing quarantined items (Quarantine icon), setting program options (Options icon), and viewing alert details (Alerts icon). When you select an icon, its corresponding functions and information open in the Main panel. The Icon panel also provides a Help icon, which opens the online instructions for using the program (you can also click theicon).
Main panel Displays the tasks and information related to the selected icon. It allows you to change Spy Sweeper settings, run a sweep, manage the Quarantine, and view alerts.When the Home panel is displayed, the main panel shows overall Spy Sweeper status and functions, as described in the following table.
Home panel areas Sweep panel Last full sweep:—Last sweep is up to date (within the last 7 days).
—Sweep is due. The last sweep was between 8 and 14 days ago.
—Sweep is out of date. The last sweep was more than 14 days ago.
Click the Edit link (upper right) to change your sweep options (see Setting sweep options).Next sweep: If you have defined a sweep schedule, this displays the date of your next sweep. Click the Next sweep link to define or change a scheduled sweep (see Configuring Custom Sweep options).Start button: Click the arrow on the button to select a different sweep type. Click the button to start a sweep now (see Running sweeps immediately). Shields panel—Full Protection. All critical and recommended shields are turned on.
—Partial Protection. All critical shields are on, but some recommended shields are not.
—Vulnerable. One or more critical shields are not turned on.
Click the Edit link (upper right) to change your shield settings (see Setting shields). Updates panel Last check for updates:—The definitions are up to date. The last check for updates was within the last 7 days.
—Definitions might be out of date. The last check was between 8 and 14 days ago.
—Definitions are out of date. The last check for updates was more than 14 days ago.
Click the Edit link (upper right) to change your update settings (see Updating Spy Sweeper). Antivirus Protection panel Sweep for Viruses—In your Custom Sweep settings, the Sweep for viruses option is selected.
—In your Custom Sweep settings, the Sweep for viruses option is not selected (see Configuring Custom Sweep options).
—You do not have Spy Sweeper with AntiVirus installed, which means that Spy Sweeper is not providing any antivirus protection.
Virus Shields—In the Shields tab, the Protect against viruses option is selected.

Subscription Status panel Shows the date your subscription ends. If you see a Check Status link, click the link to ensure that you see up-to-date subscription information. You can also click the About Spy Sweeper link for program version information and definitions status. Alerts and News panel AlertsIf Spy Sweeper has any alerts for you, it displays the number of alerts in parentheses. Click the Alerts link to review them (see Viewing alerts and news).Spy News™Click the Spy News™ link to review Webroot threat news in your Web browser (see Viewing alerts and news).
