Encryption
StuffIt Deluxe features strong RC4 encryption, and supports up to 512bit key lengths. Here's how to use Strong encryption to protect your files:
From the Start Menu, choose All Programs, and then navigate to the StuffIt folder.
Choose StuffIt to launch the application.
In the StuffIt menu bar, click the Drag and Drop button
When the drag and drop area is displayed, you will notice four choices. The one you will want to use is labeled "Compress files into a StuffIt X archive".
Notice in the drag and drop caption bar, there are several buttons that can be clicked, click the "padlock" button to turn on encryption.
Next drag and drop the files and/or folders you want to encrypt onto the StuffIt X drop area. If you drag and drop multiple files at once, they will be added to a single StuffIt X archive before they are compressed.
Tip: StuffIt X supports RC4, AES, DES, and BlowFish Encryption. To change the encryption method used, open the Advanced Format Options dialog and click StuffIt X.
