Tool Bar Buttons

This topic is designed to provide a tour of the Toolbar buttons in the StuffIt Application:

 

• New Archive: The New Archive button is used to create a new archive. A new empty archive will be opened in Archive view. You can add content by dragging and dropping files from a Windows Explorer folder, or the Folder Contents panel within the StuffIt application. You can also add files using the Add Files dialog.

 

• Open Archive: Opens a dialog that prompts you to select an archive to be opened in ArchiveView.

 

• Add Files: Opens the Add Files dialog. This button is only active when an archive is open in ArchiveView.

 

• Extract Selected: This button will extract selected files from an archive open in ArchiveView. You will be prompted to specify a location for these files. This button will only be active when an archive is open, and files have been selected.

 

• Make Self-Extracting: This button will close an archive that is open in ArchiveView, and re-open it in the Make Self Extracting dialog. This button is only active when an archive is open in ArchiveView. If the archive is modified, you will be prompted to save your changes.

If the left hand panel has been closed, clicking the Folders button will cause it to open.

 

•  folders_24_8.bmp" x-maintain-ratio=TRUE style="border: none; width: 24px; height: 24px; float: none;" width=24 height=24 border=0> Catalog: Switches the left hand panel to the Catalog tab. If the left hand panel has been closed, clicking the Catalog button will cause it to open.

 

• Search: Switches the left panel to the ArchiveSearch tab. If the left panel has been closed, clicking the Search button will cause it to open.

 

• Info: Switches the left panel to the ArchiveInfo tab. If the left panel has been closed, clicking the Info button will cause it to open.

 

• Drag and Drop: Switches the upper right panel to the Drag and Drop view. If an archive is currently open in ArchiveView, it will not be closed. Click the View button to switch back and view the contents of the archive. If the upper right panel has been closed, clicking the Drag and Drop button will cause it to open.

 

• View: Switches the upper right panel to the ArchiveView view. If the upper right panel has been closed, clicking View will cause it to open.

 

• Wizard: Switches the upper right panel to the Wizard view. If the upper right panel has been closed, clicking Wizards will cause it to open.
