This topic provides information about the archive
and encoded file types you can create and open with the StuffIt application.
StuffIt allows you to open the following file
types:
Archive File Formats:
StuffIt archives (.sit,
.sea) Includes encrypted StuffIt archives, segmented archives, as well
as files in StuffIt 3.x, 2.x, and 1.5.x format.
StuffIt X archvies (.stix)
Zip archives (.zip) Includes
encrypted and segmented zip archives.
RAR archives (.rar)
Arc archives (.arc, .pak)
Arj (.arj)
Single File Archive Formats:
Bzip archives (.bz, .tbz,
tbz2)
Gzip archives (.gz, tgz)
Unix Compress archives
(.Z)
Encoding File
Formats:
Base64/MIME encoded (.b64,
.mim, .mme)
BinHex encoded files
(.hqx)
UUcode encoded files
(.uu, .uue)
MacBinary encoded files
(.bin)
