Updates and Upgrades - What's the Difference?

You can tell the difference between an update and an upgrade by looking at Radiotracker's version number. With an update, the first digit of the version number never changes because it represents the set of core functionality provided by that specific Radiotracker version. If other numbers change, for example from 1.3.0.17 to 1.4, then the version you have is an update.

Updates are free for registered users. Additional information can be found in the section Registration as a Customer at radiotracker.com.

When core functions in Radiotracker are added or enhanced, the first digit of the version number changes. This is known as an upgrade. Upgrades are associated with upgrade fees.

How does an update work?

RapidSolution enhances Radiotracker in short development cycles, improving product operation, optimizing existing functions and extending the help facility along the way. These modifications are usually included in updates which are free of charge for all Radiotracker customers. RapidSolution regularly writes to customers who purchased at www.radiotracker.com to inform them when new updates become available. These can be downloaded free-of-charge.

How does an upgrade work?

Click on the "Options" button and select the "General Settings" tab. Then click on the "Register" button to open the upgrade window. Here you will find links to the Radiotracker Web site, where you can purchase a license key for the Premium or Platinum version.

Once you have obtained a license key, you can enter it in this window to activate the Radiotracker functional level you have purchased.

Storing the License Key

Customers who purchase a Radiotracker license online at radiotracker.com or in the on-line shop Share-It receive multiple notices via e-mail advising that the license key should be carefully stored for later use. This key enables a Radiotracker test version to be activated as a Premium or Platinum version.

RapidSolution takes no responsibility for generating new license keys in the event of loss.

Please print the e-mail containing your license key and keep it in a safe place where you can find it in the future!

Registering as a Customer at radiotracker.com

Customers who obtained their Radiotracker licenses directly at radiotracker.com are automatically registered at RapidSolution and are entitled to receive updates free-of-charge.

If you received your full Radiotracker version as a magazine supplement or on a CD accompanying a magazine, you should register as a customer at the Radiotracker Web site at http://www.radiotracker.com/register/ to qualify for free updates!

As new updates become available, registered users will receive an e-mail containing a download link to the new version. Registering also entitles you to receive a discount on the purchase of the Premium version. Details can be found in the e-mail you will receive after registering your product.
