Stamps dialog
This dialog and the other tools within it allow you to create stamps that you can apply to your images. Once applied, from within the HyperSnap-DX window, you can "grab" a stamp with the mouse by left-click-drag to place it in whatever location you prefer. (You can even drag it part of the way off of the image if you wish to clip off some of the stamp's contents.) Empty background area that appears under the stamp when you relocate it will be filled with the default background color.
Stamps Folder:
- this shows you the current "in-use" stamps folder HyperSnap-DX
is pointed to. You can change this using the Browse
button. Navigate through your system to locate the folder you would like
to use to store stamps.
You can have up to 40 stamps in a folder. If you have more than that, they won't display properly. If you need to have more than 40 stamps total, make folders that allow you to categorize them. Then change the stamps folder the program uses to one of the other folders you've created to load the various stamps you need as you work.
Stamp
creation / Edit tabs
The features of New Stamp and Edit Stamp are essentially the same, and are broken out into multiple tabs, all of which are explained below. The only difference between New and Edit is that the New Stamp dialog asks you for a name on the bottom. Edit stamp uses the pre-existing name, and of course you should have selected a stamp within the stamp list prior to clicking Edit Stamp.
You may add an image to your stamp here - or you may delete an existing image from a stamp (for example to change it to text only stamp). The image may be loaded from a graphics file, or from the currently opened image in HyperSnap window - in this second case, if a smaller fragment of the image was selected before entering stamps editor, only that fragment will be used on the stamp.
Deep bits.
The bit depth of this image should be equal to, or less than, the image
to which your stamp is applied. If you are applying a stamp with a true
color background image to a 16 color original, the stamp background (and
perhaps font colors) will be altered to match the destination file's format.
If you apply a color stamp with color fonts to a gray scale image, then
the stamp will be converted to gray scale at the time of application.
You may define here the text that will appear on your stamp. You may use different fonts and color, and align paragraphs of text in any way. You may also insert into that text some special macros that will expand to current date and time, file name and path where the image to which you add this stamp is saved, and the currently logged on user name.
Frames are rectilinear objects that HyperSnap-DX can apply around an image applied as a stamp, or you can manually drag the frame to fit within whatever square or rectangular shape you want on top of an image. (Handy for framing an image "within" another, such as a picture of a picture.) On this tab you may set frame color and width (or no frame at all if you enter 0 for the width), background color and transparency of the stamp, it's overall size and relative placement of the stamp image and text within the frame.
Here you may select where to place a stamp when you insert it on an image, for example at the current selection area, bottom right corner etc. A stamp may be also prepened to the top or appended to the bottom of an image, to serve as a "header" or "footer".
Other, advanced stamp options may be set here. You may select one of the colors on the stamp to be replaced with target image transparent color (which will mask part of image). You may also decide how to blend the stamp with the original image pixels - have it appear translucent or opaque. Finally, there is also an option box here that decides if this stamp will be automatically added to all captured images or not.
