GetRight can monitor your web browser and the contents of the clipboard to detect files for it to download..
Internet Explorer
| • | Replace the "Save As" window...(IE 5.5 and higher): This newer method works very well, using GetRight with this is as simple as using your web browser.. This monitoring method was designed just for download managers like GetRight to take over and download files. Internet Explorer calls GetRight whenever it would show the "Save As" or the "Save or Open" message. This avoids some of the problems with other click monitoring, especially sites that use scripts to send the file so it doesn't look like a file to download. GetRight even is called when you Right click a link and pick the "Save Target As..." menu item. |
The disadvantage of using this method alone is that holding CTRL+ALT when clicking does not work, also, GetRight's "Right Click" menu items in Internet Explorer won't work either. But you can (and should) use this method in combination with the other Internet Explorer click monitoring method for those to work.
| • | Catch downloads based on file types... (4.0 or higher): GetRight will be automatically triggered by Internet Explorer to download the file types setup on the Types & Options config page. Using GetRight with this is as simple as using your web browser. This is the Internet Explorer method used in GetRight versions before 5.1. |
NOTE: If you change either of these value, you will need to log out of Windows or reboot for the change to take effect.
Clipboard
| • | Monitor Clipboard: When this option is selected GetRight will monitor the contents of the clipboard. When text for a correctly formed URL is copied to the clipboard, GetRight will process it to see if it should download the file (based on the file types on the Types & Options config page) and trigger to download the file if it does. |
