Instant CashBook 2007 provides a simple, convenient mechanism to backup or archive your database files. Instant CashBook 2007 uses a Zip comression/ archiving format. This means that you can backup or archive all the database files into one convenient zip file. This zip file can compress the database files by as much as 95% minimizing disk space.

 

This zip file can be save in a floppy disk, optical disk, removal disk etc so that you can easily tranport your data files to another PC or keep it separately for safe keeping. You can also archieve say a copy of you data for each month.

 

1. Use the menu option : File | Backup.

2. In the Backup/ Archieve dialog box, specify the database that you wish to backup. You can select this from the "Backup From" Combo Box.

3. Specify a location and name for the Backup file. I.e all the datafiles will be compressed into this one Zip file.

4. Click the Start Backup button to begin the backup process.

5. Once complete you will see the message "Backup Complete" below the progress bar. A zip archive file of the name you specified will be created in the specified location.

 

 

Note that before you can open the backup/ archive file you must restore it first.
