This guide is designed to introduce Namo FreeMotion to you. Take a tour of the major features.

Professional Movie Maker

Namo FreeMotion is a fully functional Flash Movie Maker. A friendly interface and easy operation are prepared for your creation. It supports functionalities including shape design, motion tween creation, build-in special effect, .swf importing, Flash video creation, image exporting quality control, sound playback setting, ActionScript adding etc.

Import & Edit SWF Movie

  • The ability to import SWF movies
    Support importing flash movies in *.swf format. Compatible with movies created with Flash v4, v5, v6 or v7 and full action support. The script written in ActionScript 1.0 or 2.0 can be decompiled and displayed in the Action panel. Go here for more info.
    It also supports importing the SWF movie into the Library, which can be used as resources in your movie.
  • Edit elements of imported *.swf files
    Besides the ability to import a *.swf file, the program is also able to edit almost all of the elements of the imported *.swf file, that is, you can replace the elements of a *.swf flash movie in your desired way without a *.fla file.
  • Support writing scripts code and editing the scripts of imported movie
    Namo FreeMotion supports ActionScript 1.0 and ActionScript 2.0 completely. Also it enables you to edit the script code of imported movie. Go here for more info. ActionScript wizard comes to you with frequently used script code which can help you fast editing.
  • Export Movie
    After you import a SWF movie and finish modification, you can export the movie as a *.swf or *exe file as well.
  • Catch Movie from Browser
    After you install Namo FreeMotion, a small button of Namo SWF Catcher, an assistant tool of Namo FreeMotion, will be added to Internet Explorer's toolbar. While you are viewing a page including flash, click this Catcher button or right-click and select "Namo SWF Catcher" to get the flash movie file. Go here to learn how to capture flash movie.

Creating Flash Video

You can import video files in a variety of file formats, depending on your system. Supported file formats includes AVI, MPEG, WMV (Needs Windows Media Player), MOV (Needs QuickTime), RM/RMVB (Needs Real Player). You can preview frames of an imported video by dragging the playhead along the Timeline. Video Import wizard can lead you to apply customized compression settings before importing it. You can export an embedded video as a .swf or .exe file, which retains the compression settings applied when the .swf or .exe file was created.

Motion

  • Motion Tween
    Support creating Motion Tween referring motioning around the canvas, scaling, rotating, and skewing. And you can set the tween's rotate, speed, etc. in the Property panel.
  • Guide Line Motion
    Provide Easy-to-draw Guide tool of various kinds. When you would like to create motion paths, with Guide Line tool, you are able to draw motion guide lines more freely.
  • Mask Motion
    You can create Mask Motion in Namo FreeMotion by using Mask/Masked layer with ease.

Special Effect

The effect architecture can do you a favor to get text effect with a few mouse clicks.
Apart from adding professional effect to text, adding to other elements such as shape, movieclip and etc. can also be supported. Effects available for the type of elements you've selected appear as active menu choices in the Select Effect dialog box. When you add an effect to an element, Namo FreeMotion creates a length of timeline, which make you see the length of the effect clearly. You can even editing the instances (text, shape, movieclip and etc.) that have effects attached to them freely. Learn how to add effect to an element.

Image Quality Control

Select Export settings for individual image in the image Properties dialog box. Including select the final format (PNG or JPEG) of images, control the JPEG quality (0-100) while exporting Flash movie. See details here.

Sound Playback Settings

Select Export settings for individual sounds in the Sound Properties dialog box. The sample rate and bit rate make a significant difference in the quality and size of sounds in exported SWF files. You can adjust them at ease. See detailed information here.

Wizard & template

Quick-start with wizard. You can create a new movie quickly by following the wizards. The wizard will guide you to create an animated Flash album, banner, navigation buttons of slide show in minutes.

Replacing Symbol of instances

During creating movie, you may want to use another symbol to replace current one.
For example, I want to use text symbol "Namo FreeMotion" to replace text "Namo SWF Decompiler". Normally, you should go the frame where the text is and delete the instance of this symbol and add the instance of new symbol. But now, by using "Replace Symbol..." you can easily do it. Learn how to replace the symbol of multiple instances or all instances with another symbol.

Customize Text

By using the Text tool in the Tools panel, you can add horizontal text to any place in your movie. In the Text panel, you can customize all the properties of text, such as color, font, font size and URL link etc. Furthermore, you can give different color, font style, or URL link to a paragraph of text.

Shape Editing

Support drawing and editing vector shape. You can resize, reshape, rotate or skew the shapes. And you can use the Fill transform tool to edit the color gradient directly.

Support Multibytes Language Text

Multibytes language (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc.) text is supported perfectly.

Stream Sound

Apart from the event sound, the program supports the stream sound too, which begins to play as soon as enough data for the first few frames has been downloaded. You can control the volume of the sound as it plays.
