Security

SSH2 Public Key Authentication

Choose either password or public-key authentication when making an SSH2 connection.

SSH2 Key Pair Creation

Create your own public and private keys for SSH2 public-key authentication right in CuteFTP Pro.

SSH2 Rename

Rename files over an SSH2 connection, few other SSH2 capable FTP clients provide this feature.

ASCII Transfers under SSH2

Perform ASCII transfers over an SSH2 connection, most clients can only support binary transfers over SSH2.

MAC and CIPHER Options for SSH2

Choose from an exhaustive list of encryption algorithms and Message Authentication Codes CuteFTP Pro can use with servers for SSH2 connections.

Cipher Strength Display

Whenever you make an SSH2 connection the log will display the type of Cipher used and the bit length of the cipher.

OTP (S/Key) Auto-detect

Protect your passwords in all connections with One Time Password authentication.  CuteFTP Pro can even automatically determine which OTP scheme is supported by remote servers.

History & Password Access Policies

Protect your passwords while you're away from your computer. Set CuteFTP Pro to remove passwords from the QuickConnect bar and the Site Manager, so no one can use your ftp passwords from your workstation.

Add items to the queue and then save the queue like a file, to be opened and used later.

Choose to whether or not to display the Site Manager when you start CuteFTP Pro in Classic mode.

Set CuteFTP Pro to disconnect from remote sites, disconnect from the Web or even shut down after a successful transfer.

File and folder management

Directory Compare

Use the Compare Folder Contents tool and CuteFTP Pro will highlight files that differ between a remote and local folder.

Site Backup

Schedule a single or recurring backup of your entire site. CuteFTP Pro will download the entire site into a backup folder, compress it using ZIP, CAB, or GZIP/TAR compression, and then label it with a time/date stamp.

Folder Monitor

Set a timer for CuteFTP Pro to check a local folder structure for changes. If changes are detected, then modified files are uploaded to a pre-defined remote location. Use it to easily publish changes from a staging server to a live server.

Folder Overwrite Options

Apply Smart Overwrite rules to folder transfers, or choose to be prompted before overwriting folders, or set CuteFTP Pro to automatically overwrite the destination folder and all its contents without prompting you when transferring a folder.

Time Stamp Control

Preserve a downloaded file's time stamp obtained from the server instead of your current system time. Keep the locally defined time for uploaded files*. Define the time offset for the server for greater efficiency in transfer and synchronization.

*The Server must support the MDTM command for the "Preserve local time feature to work. Although designed to retrieve dates MDTM is widely used in this manner.

Find & Find Next with Wildcard Support

Find files and folders by typing just a few characters from the name.  Don't  remember the name? Use wildcards to aid in the search.

Select All

Quickly select every item in a Local, Remote, Queue, or Log pane.

Group Select, Deselect & Invert Selection

Select a group of files based on their type or name, or select all files that are not of that type or name.

Enhanced Folder Properties

See folder properties in CuteFTP Pro's Status bar.  You'll see the folder's server, the number of files in the folder, their total size, plus the size of any selected item.

Move Command

Easily move items on a remote server from one folder to another.

 

 

Transfers

Restart from Byte Offset

Choose how much of a failed transfer to resend before sending the remainder of the file when resuming a broken transfer.

Power Failure Queue & Transfer Recovery

Automatically reconnect and resume* a transfer when it's broken by a power-outage, or almost any other reason.

*Not all sites supports transfer resume. In case of power-outage, the user must reboot their PC and run CuteFTP Pro for it to automatically resume. Severe blackouts may corrupt data on disk and therefore prevent CuteFTP Pro from successfully completing the transfer. Mission critical systems should rely on backup power, such as a UPS provides.

Queue Item Ordering & Manipulation

Easily arrange or rearrange the order in which queued items will transfer.

Queue Finished Transfer Sound

Set CuteFTP Pro to play a sound after the whole queue is transferred, or play a sound after each transfer.

 

Connections

Blank Passwords Option

Leave the user name and password blank for a site, and CuteFTP Pro 3.0 will still try to connect, without asking for a user name and password if "Show login prompt" and "Treat 5xx errors as 4xx" are turned off in Global Settings.

QUIT Command Option

Choose to send the QUIT command whenever ending a session, thus disconnecting gracefully.

Greater Tolerance for Non-Standard FTP Servers

Use special settings designed to ease connection with servers that don't accept standard FTP connections.
