Connecting to secure sites
With CuteFTP Pro you can make secure connections and transfers with FTPS (SSL) sites, SFTP (SSH2) sites, and HTTPS (SSL) sites.
To connect to an FTPS (SSL) site
Go to File > New > FTPS (SSL) Site.
The Site Properties dialog box appears.
Type in the host, user name and password.
Click the Type tab.
In the Protocol list, choose FTP with SSL (Implicit encryption), or FTP with SSL (Explicit encryption). The appropriate port will be selected. Certain servers support only one of the two methods. You can also select a clear data channel from this tab.
Click Connect or OK.
For more details, see Learning about Secure Socket Layer (SSL).
To connect to an SSH2 (SFTP2) site
Go to File > New > SFTP (SSH2) Site.
The Site Properties dialog box appears.
Type in the host, user name and password.
Click the Type tab.
In the Protocol list, SFTP using SSH2 (Secure Shell) and the appropriate port will already be selected.
Click Connect or OK.
For more details, see Learning about Secure Shell (SSH2).
To connect to an HTTPS site
Go to File > New > HTTPS (SSL) Site.
The Site Properties dialog box appears.
Type in the host, user name and password.
Click the Type tab.
In the Protocol list, HTTPS (Secure HTTP access) and the appropriate port will already be selected.
Click Connect or OK.
