Compressing uploads
To compress files for uploads
Connect to a site.
Choose the destination folder in the Remote pane.
Highlight the file(s) you want to upload in the Local Drives pane.
On the menu bar go to File > Upload Advanced > Upload Compressed.
The menu will display file names with three different extensions. Each extension represents a compression scheme.
Choose the file name with the extension for the compression scheme you want.
Notes
.zip is the industry standard archival method (wide support, medium compression).
.cab is a Microsoft format (not very wide support, stronger compression than ZIP).
.gzip/tar is a UNIX format (files are stored in a “Tarball” then compressed).
