MP3 Compression

Blaze Media Pro enables you to compress, or convert, MP3 files to the frequency, bitrate, quality, and channels that you want.

Tip

  • If the converted file does not have the expected quality, or the conversion does not complete successfully, the computer's configuration or files being converted might not support the default conversion method. You can set an option to change the way Blaze Media Pro's conversions operate for increased compatibility. To do this, in the main window of Blaze Media Pro, click the Options menu and select General. On the General Settings dialog box, click Use Alternate Conversion Methods. Once you set this option, try the conversion again.

  1. In the main window, click Conversions > MP3 Compression.
  2. Click the Add Files to List button or select Edit > Add.

    Tip

    • If you want to convert the files in a certain order, you can arrange the files in the list by selecting the files you want to move and using the Move Up and Move Down commands on the Edit menu.
  3. Select the MP3 files you want to compress or, rather, convert.

    Tip

    • You can select more than one file by pressing the Ctrl key while clicking the files or pressing the Shift key and using the arrows to select a range of files. If you want to remove files from the list select the files you want to remove, select Remove from the Edit menu or click the Remove Files button.
  4. Select the Conversion Frequency (kHz).
  5. Select the Bitrate.
  6. Select the Quality.  The choices are High, Normal, and Low.
  7. Select the Channels.
  8. Click the Convert button or select File > Convert.
