Sorting files
In any view mode, you can sort your files according to different file properties to quickly organize your images, find specific files, and create a range of files with similar attributes for easy selection.

Your sort settings are saved until you change them. For example, if you sort images in the File List pane according to Rating, the images will remain sorted according to Rating until you change the sort settings. |
To sort files in the File List:
Do one of the following:
Click View | Sort By and select a sort option.
Click the Sort By button on the File List pane toolbar and select a sort option.
To sort files according to more criteria:
Do one of the following:
Click View | Sort By and select More.
Click the Sort By button on the File List pane toolbar and select More.
Click the plus sign (+) to expand property groupings.
Select a specific database, EXIF, file property, image attribute, IPTC, or multimedia attribute.
Click OK.
To change the sort order in the File List:
Do one of the following:
Click View | Sort By and then select either Sort Forward or Sort Backward.
Click the Sort By button on the File List pane toolbar and select either Sort Forward or Sort Backward.
To customize the sort order:
Remove any filters or groups.
Select one or more files in the File List.
Drag the selected files to a new location in the File List.
To delete a custom sort do one of the following:
Click View | Sort By | Delete Custom Sort.
Click the Sort By button on the File List pane toolbar and select Delete Custom Sort.
To sort files in Details view mode:
Click a column header. An arrow appears, indicating the sort direction.
Click the column header again to change the sort direction.
