Distributing Online Surveys

Knowing the minds of your customers is the key to success. Surveys have always been a popular tool for businesses trying to assess the wants and needs of their target audience. Now, with KMailer, you've got the power to instantly gather accurate and valuable information from your customers.
To create a new online survey, please select menu: "File" -> "New" -> "Online Survey". KMailer will open the "New Online Survey Wizard" window, and through this step-by-step wizard, you can :
1. Name and describe your new survey.
2. Edit the introduction for your survey
Edit the introduction text for your new survey. It is shown at the top of your survey like a header.
3. Edit the conclusion of your survey
Edit the conclusion text of your new survey. This text is shown at the end of your survey like a footer.
4. Add questions to your survey
Add questions or content to your survey. You can also edit its display order. KMailer now supports up to 10 question types.
5. Specify the style of the survey
You can manually adjust the page style of your new survey, including background, font, font size, etc, or just select a pre-designed template for your survey.
6. Submission Setting
It determines what the respondent sees after they select the "Submit Survey" button. There are three options, of which you can only select one.
- Display concluding Message
This is the default option. Upon survey submission, the user will see a text page with a heading and contents.
- Redirect to an Existing Web Page
Upon submission, this will send the user to whatever web page is specified in the URL field.
- Send thanks/confirmation email
Send a thanks or confirmation email to the respondent upon submission.
7. Other Settings
Specify other settings of your new survey, for instance, whether or not the KMailer should prevent respondents from resubmitting the survey and if there is a deadline for taking the survey.
8. Activate the Survey
You should activate the survey before you can distribute it to your respondents. Just click the "Activate the Survey" button to activate this new survey.
9. Distribute the survey
Once the survey has been activated, you will get a survey url. You can deliver this web link in a number of different ways. Most people deliver the link inside an email for people to just click on using KMailer's delivery engine. You can also telephone it, fax it and even print it. Once people have participated in your survey you can pick up the survey results in the report section.
10. Get real-time reports
To view the report on a survey, please switch to "Surveys View" by selecting menu: "View" -> "Surveys View".
Select one online survey which has been published, then click on "Reports" button on the toolbar, you will be taken to the reports view of the selected survey. There are two main reports on the survey:

Survey Summary Report
The first report you'll see when you get a report on a survey is the "Survey Summary Report". This report gives you an "at-a-glance" view of your survey results.

- Respondent Summary Report
This report shows you the information on each individual respondent in depth. For instance, it shows you at what time a certain respondent started the survey and at what time he completed the questionnaire and clicked the Submit button. You can aslo view the results of each respondent respectively.
