Creating Email Campaigns
Now that you've created your contact list, you are ready to compose your email campaigns. With KMailer, you can create your email campaign using a professional-looking template, or for total flexibility, you can also create your campaign from scratch using the built-in WYSIWYG HTML editor.
To create an email campaign, please follow these instructions:
Select menu "File" -> "New" -> "Email Campaign" -> "New campaign from scratch", and KMailer will open the "New Email Campaign Wizard" window. This wizard will guide you step by step through the process of createing a new email campaign: Name and describe your new campaign, Select a contact list for this campaign, Specify the email delivery mode and the number of threads the new campaign use, and some other settings, then KMailer will open the HTML editor to let you compose the email content.

With KMailer's Delivery Engine, you can choose the most suitable delivery mode for you from the 4 different message delivery modes.
- Direct delivery mode
This delivery mode doesn't use your mail server or your ISP's mail server. Instead, It directly connects and sends messages to the mail server of the recipient's address. For instance, a message to tom@aol.com is sent directly to mail.aol.com instead of mail.yourdomain.com. This takes the load off of your mail server and speeds up message sending significantly.
- Multi-SMTP-Server delivery mode with SMTP authentication
Of course, you can also use one or more of your SMTP servers to deliver your messages. This mode supports multiple SMTP servers and can automatically balance the load between these SMTP servers.
- Direct delivery with backup SMTP server (Mixed delivery mode)
This delivery mode sends messages directly at first, if the direct delivery fails, then KMailer will use the backup SMTP servers you assigned to send the message again. With this delivery mode, you can avoid overloading your SMTP servers as well as improve the sending success ratio dramatically.
- IIS SMTP Service delivery mode
IIS SMTP Service is a high performance SMTP server on Windows NT/2000/XP. You can use it to send email easily with KMailer. When a messages is submitted to IIS SMTP service, consider it "fire and forget." IIS handles the low level delivery details. If a failure occurs, the message is retried at user defined intervals. If a message can not be delivered after a user defined expiration period, notifications can be sent to an email addresses you specified.
Note : if you assign multiple SMTP servers to send out your messages in "Multi-SMTP-Server delivery mode" or "Mixed delivery mode", KMailer can automatically balance the load between these servers. For instance, if you have 1000 messages to be sent and you assign 10 SMTP servers to do the job, then each server will handle about 100 messages. This feature takes the load off of your SMTP servers and speeds up message sending significantly.
Some mail servers limit emails one IP address can send during an amount of time. To cope with this, KMailer introduces a special delivery mode which can periodically slow down KMailer's fast email sending in order to allow slow Mail Servers to "catch their breath." This optional feature can help avoid overloading the slow mail servers and improve the sending success ratio dramatically. And KMailer is the ONLY bulk email software with this feature at the present time.
You don't have to be an HTML whiz or even a graphic design expert to create eye-catching, professional-looking email campaigns with KMailer's built-in WYSIWYG HTML editor. KMailer allows you to include graphics, change font colors and sizes, add tables, and perform a myriad of functions. You can even spice up your HTML messages by adding fair-sounding background music or sound.
Once finished composing the email content, you can click on the "Send immediately" button on the toolbar to launch your campaign immediately.
